Your First 3 Revenue Opportunities in 2017
Believe it or not, it is time right now to start thinking about what you’ll offer and do to grow your business in the first quarter of next year. NOW is the time to work on that stuff.
If you’re currently in the weeds, don’t worry. This does not have to be a long, drawn out process. Take an hour, make some lists, figure out a thing or two that you’ll do new or different to facilitate the growth you want.
Remember, “little hinges swing big doors” so the new/different thing you’ll do might be as simple as implementing a new campaign or two.
One of the smartest things you can do to facilitate growth is leverage existing assets. With that in mind, there are 3 places to look to EASILY create new growth in your business …
#1 – Reactivate Lost Customers & Prospects
If there’s a portion of your list who has fallen into the “we never hear from them and we haven’t really tried to talk to them either” category, it would be very smart to develop an offer that you’ll market specifically to this crowd.
You’ll need some emails, and depending on the type of business you have you may also need a sales page, a checkout page, and non-buyer auto-responders. If you’re in professional practice, you can just use emails or maybe even a postcard. This does not have to be complicated! It just has to be implemented.
How To Get Started: First, create your offer and then write an e-mail to your lost customers and prospects detailing that offer. Then write your sales page and create the rest of the e-mails in your series. Then implement! You should be able to complete all of this in a week if you focus really hard – or start now and create your campaign to launch January 1st!
#2 – Revive Old Content
Is there something that you used to offer or used to teach on that you haven’t discussed in a while? What haven’t you discussed with your crowd recently? They should hear from you on this. Revive the topic in a blog and then send some emails and make an offer!
Again, depending on your biz, you may need more than just emails. But you don’t have to do all of this writing yourself (hello … I think you know a copywriter).
How To Get Started: Start with what you already have that you can offer and then find a blog post from 2015 that touches on that topic. Create an email where you briefly touch on the topic (maybe with updated thoughts) and point them to the blog post for further reading. Create followup e-mails that remind them of what you just revived and make your offer.
#3 – Reuse Previous Marketing Campaigns
Marketing copy that worked well for you once upon a time should work well for you again.
What do you need to do in order dust off something on the shelf, breathe new life into it and watch your business grow? Take a few minutes right now to investigate your resources and take action to USE what you have.
This can be a lot easier than you think. My old mentor, Bill Glazer always said, “The Difference Between Average Income and Financial Freedom is IMPLEMENTATION.” I believe that down to my bones. I’ve seen it play out in my own business and in my clients’ businesses.
How To Get Started: Sometimes, all you have to do is change the dates on some e-mails and salesletters and you can re-implement some marketing right away. Choose something that did well for you (you DO track, right?) and give it a read-through to see what needs to be updated. Then go for it!
You CAN start 2017 off right!
